About the apartments

New for 2012

Excise room in the stunning cave. Video games room with Xbox Kinect Or Nintendo Wii on a 42" Flat screen television (feel free to bring your own games).

Recently restored to a very high standard by a respected local builder a typically Spanish house divided into 3 apartments around a beautiful Andalucian patio, all apartments have air conditioning , sky tv and wireless access points are also available. The property is a 1 minute walk from The Church of San Pedro,

The property is situated in the old town (Casco Historico) and just minutes from the bars, cafes restaurants and small shops with a daily market for fresh produce.

Accessibility As the apartment is on the first floor it is not suitable for wheelchair users, or if you have difficulty with stairs. There are a few free parking spaces nearby, but most people park in the square, a few minutes walk away. It is pay parking, but not expensive. As the streets are quite narrow, if you rent a car I would recommend something fairly compact.

Outside The large roof terrace wraps its self around the building with stunning view of the surrounding countryside and lakes. A separate eating/sunbathing areas for both 1st floor apartments with tables/chairs and sun loungers plus a BBQ, there are also cloths drying areas.

Coast/Beach The Costa de la Luz has some of the most spectacular beaches in Spain, and apart from July and August, when many Spanish people leave the cities and head for the coast, they are virtually empty! There is a choice of destinations - the closest beaches are about 40 min drive on very good roads - at Sanlucar de Barrameda you can sit in an outdoor restaurant eating fantastic seafood, relax on the beach and then swim. The city of Cadiz, and the entire coast south as far as Tarifa are beach heaven!

Golf Arcos Golf is only a few minutes drive from Arcos, and is a very attractive new golf course - ask me if you'd like more details.

Travel Jerez airport is the nearest - only 25 mins drive. Car hire is available at the airport, but you can get a bus to Arcos (check departure times from the airport if your flight arrives late). A taxi is about 40 euros. Other airports are Seville and Gibraltar (both about an hour and a quarter), and Malaga (two and a quarter hours). If you want to spend a few days in Arcos you can manage without a car, and use buses, but if you like to explore the area a car is advisable.

Distances The area has excellent roads - 20 mins to the elegant sherry town of Jerez de la Frontera, for example - has lots of opportunities for touring bodegas, tasting and tapas! Cadiz, with 3,000 years of recorded history, is a fine sea-bound city, 40 mins drive down to the coast, with culture and shopping, beaches and restaurants, and lots of old streets to wander in. Or an hour to the orange trees and date palms of the beautiful town of Vejer de la Frontera - eat at a restaurant in the square.

Further details Arcos is a town of nearly 30,000 people, so there are plenty of banks, supermarkets, shops and restaurants, and a large gym for the really dedicated! There are two large pools open in the Summer, which belong to local hotels but are open to the public. Riding, walking and cycling are popular, and the Alconocales and Donana National Parks are famous for watching bird migration and wildlife. There is wind and kite surfing, canoeing, sailing and fishing on the coast, and of course wonderful beaches for swimming and sunbathing. The weather is great for all year round golf and tennis. Near Jerez is a water park, and at Sanlucar de Barrameda they serve fantastic seafood by the beach. There are boat trips in the coastal waters - park cheaply by the dock in El Puerto de Santa Maria and get the ferry to Cadiz - 40 mins on the ferry for a few euros and you're in the heart of the city. The wonderful city of Seville is an hour up the motorway or you can get the train from Jerez. The nearest golf is at is Arcos Gardens, a recently created quality course only a few minutes drive from Arcos, but there are many more golf courses in the area.
